Tricky Towers takes the blocks pieces of Tetris and uses them in a rather unique and clever way in this cute puzzle title. With cute designs but challenging gameplay, Tricky Towers tests players to think quickly and effectively. Play alone against the AI in numerous challenges or play against friends in 4-player multiplayer. Can you stack your tower to the top? Find out in this fun puzzler known as Tricky Towers!

In Tricky Towers, get ready to stack Tetris-like blocks to perform various actions such as reaching a specific area and or making each block fit without going over a line. However, this won’t be an easy task as an evil wizard will make your challenge even harder. Some blocks may become huge and you might even find your tower being assaulted by annoying magic that affects the integrity of your placement. Play multiple trials with different objectives or play against friends in various game modes like survival and race! Tricky Towers is a fast-paced puzzle title that is both fun and tough in equal measures. That’s why if you’re looking for a puzzle game that changes the way Tetris pieces are used, you’ll want to buy Tricky Towers!

In Tricky Towers, you take control of a powerful mage who has decided to make buildings using their magic. However, other mages have decided to challenge you by making your job ten times harder. Now you’ll have to fend off their assault as best as you can to create your tower and prove your prowess. With over 50+ challenges and several games modes, it’s time to test your tower making skills. Prove your skills in Tricky Towers!

Who doesn’t love Tetris? Seriously, ever since Tetris released back in 1984, many developers have tried to mirror its success but none have really succeeded. Though developer WeirdBeard decided to try to do the same and has created an interesting game called Tricky Towers. While at first glance, you might mistake it for a clone of Tetris—the pieces look exactly like Tetris blocks—we here at Honey’s Anime can tell you Tricky Towers is far from Tetris. Does that mean you should still be interested in buying Tricky Towers? Well, that’s what we plan on telling you in our review of Tricky Towers.

Let us first make something clear in case you do mistake Tricky Towers for Tetris because of the look. Tricky Towers only has Tetris-like pieces, the game itself plays nothing like Tetris. You won’t score points by making blocks disappear and there are times where reaching the top is actually an objective. Tricky Towers is more akin to games like Crazy Construction where you’re trying to build a tower or accomplish other tasks. It might seem confusing since it looks like Tetris but trust us, Tricky Towers is far from hard to understand.

Tricky Towers usually tasks players with stacking Tetris-like blocks to either make it to the top of a goal point or to stack a specific number of blocks without passing a line. This might seem overly simple but thanks to various elements such as physics and a mage who will alter your blocks in numerous ways, Tricky Towers can be quite…well tricky. With over 50+ challenges in the single player, you’ll find yourself being tested to figure out how to manipulate Tetris-like pieces so you can beat the challenge and move on to the next. You can either do trials and pro trials or play endless mode to see how long you can last. It’s simple but tons of fun and only gets better when you play multiplayer.

Tricky Towers might not have online multiplayer but it does contain local multiplayer for up to 4 players. Here, players can go against each other in several different modes that mirror the single player and it becomes even more frantic than the single player experience. Players can lob spells at each other to make pieces change shape and even alter the flow of the pieces. These are usually the elements that the evil mage does to you in single players so it’s interesting when you have the ability to use those same powers against a friend who is just about to win.

Another thing we adore about Tricky Towers is the cute graphics and art. Everything—and we mean everything—in Tricky Towers is cute from the way the environments are to the skins that you can use for your Tetris pieces. Even the characters you play as make you just want to go “aww.” The background music helps to with some cute tunes that truly don’t get old despite being repeated quite often which surprised us here at Honey’s Anime. Needless to say, Tricky Towers has more going for it aesthetically than Tetris and that isn’t a bad thing by any means.

We here at Honey’s Anime usually don’t struggle to find issues with puzzle games, as most just tend to have some issue like repetitive gameplay or overly frustrating challenges. Tricky Towers really doesn’t have any of that going against it. For $14.99, you’re getting over 50+ single player challenges and several modes for friends and family to enjoy together. Honestly, if we had to complain about anything it would be that Tricky Towers lacks a story mode. We would have loved to see these cute characters have a reason for what they are doing but equally, a story mode isn’t really necessary for a game like this. Tricky Towers is just fun and truly a solid game at the end of the day.

Tricky Towers might contain Tetris-like blocks but it certainly isn’t Tetris and in many ways, that’s a good thing. The simple gameplay but tough puzzles makes Tricky Towers challenging but tons of fun and never overly frustrating. Having local multiplayer for up to 4 players also makes Tricky Towers a nice game to play with friends or family and that’s always a plus in puzzle games like this. Honestly, we really don’t have very much negative to say about Tricky Towers as the game looks great, plays well and is just all-around fun for hours whether you’re playing solo or not. That’s why we fully recommend picking Tricky Towers up if you loved old school Tetris but feel it needed some new modern-day innovations.

Tricky Towers is one of those puzzle games that takes a tried and true concept and changes it in clever ways. We loved the cute visuals, simple controls and tough challenges. Plus, Tricky Towers is only $14.99 making it an affordable title that offers a lot of content that will give you dozens of hours of fun. Are you thinking of buying Tricky Towers?
